Medicare Savings

The Healthy Horizons Program helps eligible elderly and disabled Pennsylvanians to pay for some or all of Medicare’s premiums and may pay for deductibles and coinsurance for people with Medicare and limited income and resources.  Many people use the extra money to help pay for living expenses or prescription drugs. Do you qualify for this program?   Answer “yes” to the following three questions and you do qualify.

  • Do you have Medicare Part A, also known as hospital insurance?  If you do not have Medicare Part A, continue with the following questions because there is a program that may pay the Medicare Part A premium for you.
  • Are you an individual with a monthly income of less than $1,357 or a couple with a monthly income of less than $1,827?
  • Are you an individual with savings of $7,390 or less or a couple with savings of $11,090 or less?  When figuring out your savings, DO NOT INCLUDE your home, car, burial plots, or irrevocable burial reserves.
