York County cautions residents of upcoming heat wave

The York County Office of Emergency Management and the York County Area Agency on Aging are urging the community to check on vulnerable relatives, neighbors or any resident who may be elderly, disabled or at risk due to the upcoming hot temperatures.

Hot Weather Safety Tips

People of all ages are sensitive to extremes in temperature. But as you age, your body may become less able to respond to extremely hot or cold temperatures. In addition, taking certain types of medications can affect how your body responds to heat.

2019 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

The York County Area Agency on Aging, in conjunction with the PA Department of Agriculture, will again distribute $20 fruit and vegetable vouchers to qualifying seniors to buy fresh fruit and vegetables from participating local farmers’ markets.
