Marriage Licenses

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 4/7/2021:

Per the 4/7/2021 order of the York County President Judge extending the judicial emergency through 9/30/2021 in all York County Judicial facilities, in-person access and proceedings are limited in order to safeguard the health and safety of personnel, court users, and members of the public, and permit methods to accomplish business through electronic filing or the use of advanced communication technology.

Walk-ins are NOT permitted in the Office of York County Register of Wills & Clerk of Orphans' Court.  We are scheduling appointments for virtual Will Probates & Estate Administration and Marriage License applications using video conferencing.  Click here for the attached process for Marriage Licenses.

The ONLY permitted in-person filings are Emergency Petitions for Incapacitated Persons, Guardianships, and Termination of Parental Rights, which will be granted by the Clerk or Chief Deputy by appointment only.  Masks and social distancing are required.

We ask all attorneys and citizens to contact our offices to conduct business by phone, email, mail and our Judicial Center dropbox.

Questions, please contact: (717) 771-9288 or OrphansCourt@YorkCountyPA.gov
