AARP 2020 Tax Year Assistance
Free tax assistance for adults 50 and older is available from February 4 to April 15, 2021.
The AARP Tax program will be offered this year with a limited in-person process. If you aren't sure if you would qualify for this service, you can take a look at the document titled How AARP Tax-Aide Can Help that shows which types of returns the preparers are able to complete. For answers to other questions related to preparing your taxes, call the York Tax-Aide message number at (717) 640-5006.
Because of COVID you will have 2 appointments intended to be less than ½ hour each. You must wear a mask properly at all times at each appointment.
- During the first appointment, a volunteer will review your Intake/Interview & Quality Review Form and your Taxpayer Instructions and Consent Form. Then the volunteer will scan your tax documents. You will leave the site with all of your documents.
- You will be given a 2nd appointment to return to the site to pick up and sign your completed tax return, typically, the following week.
- The tax return preparer will call you to review the return.
- Of most importance, please complete the pages in the Intake/Interview Booklet, sign the three included Consent forms and complete and sign the last page of the Form 14446 Consent Form and bring them with you to your first appointment. You can download them here.
