Fall Health & Wellness Class Schedule Announced

The York County Area Agency on Aging hosts FREE classes for older adults on fall prevention, diabetes and chronic disease, and healthy aging.  

Living Well With Diabetes - Your Life, Your Way

For:  Those age 60 and older living with pre-diabetes or diabetes, or age 60 or older caregivers of someone living with diabetes. This program provides tools for managing diabetes, dealing with difficult emotions, and breaking the symptom cycle that comes with the disease.

Dates, Times, and Locations:

South Central Senior Center
150 East Main Street, New Freedom
Tuesdays, September 10 through October 15

A Matter of Balance

 
For: Those age 60 and older, who experience concerns about falling, and restrict their activities. The program teaches techniques to manage falls and increase activity levels.

Healthy Steps For Older Adults (HSOA)

For:  Those age 60 and older. This program raises awareness of falls, helps participants understand fall risks, and introduces steps on how to reduce falls.  Referrals and additional resources are also available.

Healthy Steps in Motion (HSIM)

For:  Those age 60 and older.  This falls-prevention exercise program strives to reduce the risk of falling by building body strength, increasing flexibility, improving balance, and promoting increased socialization and physical activities outside of the program among participants.
