Registration Open For Senior Art Show

Registrations are now being accepted for the show, which is open to the public and held in conjunction with the York County Senior Games.

Participants must be York County residents 60 years of age or older and are limited to one entry per person.

The show is comprised of Intermediate and Advanced divisions. Participants who have never won an artwork award of any kind should enter the Intermediate division. The Advanced Division is for artists who have won an award for artwork, including those presented at past York County Senior Art Shows.

Entered artwork must have been completed in the June 2011-June 2012 time frame. Categories of artwork include acrylic, oil, photography, computerized photography, watercolors, pen-and-ink drawings, pencil/colored pencil drawings, charcoal/pastels and collages.

Ribbons are awarded to first through third place in each category. The top entry across all categories will be recognized as the Best of Show. IS THERE A BEST OF SHOW FOR EACH DIVISION? IF SO, THIS SENTENCE SHOULD BE MODIFIED.

Each entry must be framed and is limited to 24 inches by 36 inches. Each appropriately framed entry must have wire attached for hanging; saw tooth hangers will not be accepted.

There is a $7 registration fee, which includes a reception for Art Show winners on Saturday, June 23. The registration deadline is May 25.

Registration forms are available at all York County senior centers, on the “Forms & Documents” page of the York County Area Agency on Aging’s website,, or by calling the Agency at (717) 771-9001 or 1-800-632-9073.
