Mail in and absentee ballot information

NOTICE: IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SUBMITTED A MAIL IN BALLOT OR ABSENTEE BALLOT, YOU CANNOT VOTE AT YOUR POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY.

THE DEADLINE TO REQUEST A MAIL IN BALLOT IS TUESDAY, MAY 11, 2021. AFTER THAT DATE, YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AN EMERGENCY BALLOT AT THE ELECTION OFFICE, WHICH YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE AND TURN IN AT THAT TIME. NO OTHER OVER-THE-COUNTER BALLOTS WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER THE MAY 11, 2021, DEADLINE.

IF YOU DO NOT RETURN YOUR COMPLETED MAIL IN OR ABSENTEE BALLOT IN ADVANCE OF THE ELECTION, YOU MAY RETURN IT BY 8 P.M. ON ELECTION DAY TO THE YORK COUNTY ELECTIONS OFFICE.

IF YOU HAVE REQUESTED A MAIL IN BALLOT OR ABSENTEE BALLOT BUT DID NOT RETURN IT TO THE YORK COUNTY ELECTIONS OFFICE REGARDLESS OF THE REASON, YOU CANNOT OBTAIN AN OVER-THE-COUNTER BALLOT.

IN THIS CASE YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS:
1. YOU CAN BRING YOUR OUTER RETURN ENVELOPE WITH YOUR ADDRESS ON IT ALONG WITH YOUR BALLOT TO YOUR POLLING LOCATION FOR SURRENDER. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A DECLARATION, YOU WILL THEN BE PERMITTED TO VOTE A REGULAR BALLOT.

2. IF YOU APPEAR AT YOUR POLLING LOCATION WITHOUR YOUR ADDRESSED ENVELOPE AND BALLOT, YOU WILL BE PERMITTED TO VOTE BY PROVISIONAL BALLOT ON ELECTION DAY.
