Registration Opens For Veterans Day Program

The York County Department of Veterans Affairs has opened registration for this year’s York County Veterans Day program.

The popular public ceremony each year features a buffet breakfast followed by a ceremony to honor veterans. This year’s program will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Utz Arena on the grounds of the York Expo Center.breakfast1

The cost for those wishing to participate in both the breakfast and ceremony is $5 per person. There is no cost for people interested in attending only the ceremony.

“We welcome the community to join us in recognizing the commitment and sacrifice of our country’s veterans,” said Philip Palandro, director of the department. “The day is particularly poignant here in York County, home to about 40,000 veterans.”

The deadline for registration is Friday, Oct. 23. Walk-ins on the day of the program will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis should seats remain available.

People can register by sending a registration form and check, payable to York County Veterans Affairs, to the Department Of Veterans Affairs at 100 W. Market St., York, Pa. 17401. The registration form is available by clicking here.

Interested parties can also register in person at Department of Veterans Affairs’ office.
