Legendary Eagle Brian Dawkins Coming To York

Legendary Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins will be the featured speaker at the 3rd annual Children’s Benefit Dinner hosted by the York County Youth Development Center.

Tickets now are on sale for the 350-seat dinner on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Wyndham Garden York, 2000 Loucks Road. All proceeds benefit the Center’s programs for at-risk youth.

“This is going to be an exciting evening of entertainment for a great cause,” said Rodney Wagner, director of the Youth Development Center. “We encourage anyone interested in attending to purchase a ticket as soon as possible.”

Dawkins is among the most popular Eagles to ever play with the team. The Florida native spent the first 13 years of BrianDawkinshis 16-year NFL career with the Eagles and remains tied as its all-time leader in interceptions. He was selected to the Pro Bowl nine times and was a six-time All-Pro selection.

The Eagles retired his No. 20 in 2012.

Attendees will also be treated to music from the Street Beats, a team from YDC that uses recycled materials and buckets to create rhythms and music.

This year’s master of ceremonies is 105.7 The X radio personality and standup comic Earl David Reed.

The event is geared for adults and is supported entirely by sponsorships and through ticket sales. A limited number of corporate sponsorships are still available.
