Take A Moonlight Bike Ride Along The Rail Trail

Only two 2014 dates remain for the popular Moonlight Bike Rides along the Heritage Rail Trail County Park.

The monthly Saturday rides started in April and end in September. The outings in April and September start at 7:30 p.m. The rides in May, June, July and August start at 8:30 p.m.

On the selected nights, riders will depart a parking area for a nine-mile roundtrip ride along the Rail Trail. A short OwlMoonprogram will be held during the ride with different themes.

After spending about 1 1/2 hours on the trail, riders will enjoy a snack and drinks. Participants need to supply their own bicycle, light and helmet. The program cost is $5, but children under age 12 are free. Registration is not required.

In case of inclement weather, participants after 4 p.m. may call the York County Parks voicemail at (717) 840-7440 to check on the status of the program. Participants are also encouraged to follow the Parks Department on Twitter at @yorkcountyparks.
