Tree Seedling Sale Kicks Off; Free Seedlings Available

Pick up a free tree seedling to beautify your backyard when you stop by the York County Conservation District’s 37th annual Tree Seedling Sale.

Pre-order forms for the tree sale are now available at www.yorkccd.org. Proceeds benefit the Conservation District’s educational programs, including the wildly popular Envirothon program.

New this year is an opportunity pick up a free Blue Spruce or White Pine seedling on Friday, April 11, when pre-orders can be picked up. No pre-order purchase is necessary, but individuals should print the coupon posted on the Conservation District website. 

Featured in this year’s tree sale are several plants native to this area as well as an impressive variety of fruit-bearing trees and shrubs that will provide beauty and food for years to come.

Individuals interested in purchasing seedlings through the sale should visit www.yorkccd.org. The website offers a description of the plants for sale and an order form to complete. Preorders are appreciated and should be postmarked by March 28, but walk-in sales will be available on order pick-up day, April 11.

A selection of native perennials from Harvey’s Gardens in Wrightsville will also be for sale on Friday, April 11th.

Orders and the free seedlings will be available for pick up at Rocky Ridge County Park on Friday April 11 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
