Tell Cabin Fever To "Take A Hike"

The York County Department of Parks and Recreation is offering the popular Cabin Fever Hike series from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on two Saturdays this winter.

All hikes are at Rocky Ridge County Park and will start in the Hidden Laurel Picnic Area. Guides will cover different topics each week. Hikes will conclude with a gathering around a fire where participants will enjoy hot cocoa in an enclosed pavilion.

Saturday, January 25: Parks Volunteer Naturalist Jodi Sulpizio will explore what is occurring in the woods at this time of year.

Saturday, February 8: Join the Susquehanna Valley Orienteering Club for an introduction on using a compass and map to navigate along a course.

Directions and a map of the park are available on the Department of Parks and Recreation website at www.yorkcountyparks.org. Rocky Ridge is split between Hellam and Springettsbury townships.

All hikes are free but registration is required. To register, or for more information, call Nixon County Park at (717) 428-1961.
