Relive Lincoln's Visit To Hanover Junction

Feel the history behind the Gettysburg address when a re-enactor recites the famous speech as part of a program commemorating Lincoln’s visit to Hanover Junction 150 years ago.

Lincoln re-enactor Jim Hadey at 2 p.m. on Nov. 17 will arrive at historic Hanover Junction on the Steam Into History train, disembark and talk about his life with the audience. He will conclude the program with a recitation of the Gettysburg Address.

This event will serve as a salute to Lincoln’s stop at Hanover Junction on his way to Gettysburg from Washington, D.C. to dedicate the National Cemetery. Admission to the event is free and registration is not required. For more information, call York County Parks at 840-7440.

The program is presented by the Parks Department and Friends of the Heritage Rail Trail Corridor.
