New Domestic Relations Director Appointed

The York County Court of Common Pleas today announced the appointment of Theresa Gross to lead York County Domestic Relations.

Gross is a 22-year veteran of the agency and formerly served as its assistant director. She officially assumed the role of director today.

Domestic Relations is responsible for establishing and enforcing financial and medical support of spouses and children. It is also charged with all matters related to the establishment of paternity.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the community in this capacity,” Gross said. “I look forward to working collaboratively with parents to ensure paternity is established and to make sure children and spouses receive their court-ordered support.”

Gross began her York County Domestic Relations career in a clerical role and ascended to supervisor, assistant director and now director. She has three children and lives in York City.

She said her top priority is to continue developing innovative ways to improve service delivery and ensure compliance from individuals ordered to pay child support. For example, she plans to build upon efforts to work with community agencies to address obstacles that prevent defendants from obtaining/maintaining employment.

“Theresa’s breadth of experience and commitment to the field make her the right fit for this job,” said President Judge Stephen Linebaugh. “We welcome Theresa to her new role and look forward to her continued success.”

Gross is graduate of William Penn Senior High School and this year is slated to complete a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Human Resource Management from Baker College.
