Spring Homeschool Day:
My Side of the Mountain
Nixon Park, Tuesday 9am-12pm or 1-4pm, Wednesday 9am-12pm
Join county and state park naturalists for this special homeschool student event for ages 6-11 studying 1st through 6th grade curriculums. Participants can sign up to attend either the morning or afternoon session on Tuesday, or the morning session on Wednesday. Students will rotate through three different activities with other students of similar age. We’ll be exploring themes from the book “My Side of the Mountain” by Jean Craighead George. Families may wish to read the book beforehand.
Students will go on an edible plant walk, learn about birds of prey, and explore nature journaling inside and outside. This is a student drop-off program. Limited spaces available for students and parent chaperones. No fee, register at 717-428-1961.
