The York County Office of Emergency Management and the York County Hazmat Team are pleased to announce the promotion of Daniel Santoemma to the position of Hazmat Chief.
In 2017, Dan relocated from Southwest Virginia and began his career with the County of York as OEM's SARA (Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act) Planner.
Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services Technology from Radford University Carilion (RUC), formally Jefferson College of Health Sciences.
Throughout Dan’s career, he has served in the Fire & EMS community and held the positions of Lieutenant, Captain and Assistant Chief.
Most recently, Dan served as the Interim Hazmat Chief, following the retirement of Chief Ray Kinsey in 2021.
Dan enjoys the outdoors, playing golf and spending time with his wife and young son. We would like to congratulate Dan on his promotion and wish him a long successful career with the County of York.
