Wellspan Philhaven at Edgar Square has a new Spanish Early Recovery group. to. Referrals are now being accepted.
This is an in-person group that will run on Mondays at 9 a.m. The anticipated start date is Monday, August 22nd.
The group is an hour a week for 12 weeks. Early Recovery is intended for someone who hasn't had previous SUD treatment. Here are some of the focus points:
- Psychoeducation on substance use disorders
- Identification and implementation of healthy coping skills
- Implementing relapse prevention skills
- Identifying triggers and urge behaviors associated with substance use
- Identification of the impact substance use has on self and others
- Identifying and challenging defense mechanisms and denial
