Open Records Policy

Important Note Regarding Open Records Following County's Disaster Emergency Declaration

As a result of the Disaster Emergency Declaration issued by the York County Commissioners on March 16, 2020, and the activation of the Multi-Agency Coordination Group, the York County Office of Open Records shall be declared closed to the public during any periods of suspension of public access. As a result, please note that any day an agency office is closed it is not a "business day" and is not calculated toward the deadline for an agency response in determining the 5 business day rule pursuant to 65 P.S. §67.901 of the Right to Know Law (RTKL), which governs the time period under which an Open Records Agency must respond to a request.

All RTKL requests received by the York County Office of Open Records during its closure to the public may be dated as received on the next business day that the York County Office of Open Records is open to the public.
