Fingerprinting

  • The York County Sheriff's Office processes fingerprint orders issued by Magisterial District Judges between the hours of 8 am and 9 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Applicant fingerprinting is conducted between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with a processing fee of $8.
  • All individuals that get fingerprinted must bring a valid picture identification card. Juveniles without a valid identification card MUST have a parent or legal guardian present to verify their identity.
  • The York County Sheriff's Office is not authorized to conduct fingerprinting for the new Child Protective Service laws. All fingerprints need processed through the state-contracted vender, Cogent. Please check Cogent's website for hours of operations and fees.
  • The York County Sheriff's Office conducts fingerprinting for Megan's Law offenders, but you must register at the York County Probation Department prior to reporting to the Sheriff's Office.
  • The York County Sheriff's Office does not conduct Megan's Law updates or verifications; this must be conducted at the York County Probation Department.
