The temporary surcharge portion of the Judicial Computer Project/Access to Justice/Criminal Justice Enhancement/Office of Attorney General (JCP/ATJ/CJEA/OAG) fee was reauthorized on November 1, 2023. As a result, filing fees will be readjusted to reflect the January 1, 2023 fee schedule.

The Prothonotary shall not be required to enter on the docket any suit or action nor order of court or enter any judgment thereon or perform any services whatsoever for any person or political subdivision of the Commonwealth until the requisite fee is paid. Prothonotary Fee Bill, Section 3. (b)
Payment should be made by cash, money order, credit and debit card, certified bank check or business check. Personal checks are not accepted.
Failure to provide all required paperwork may result in returned filings.
All filings should be one-sided.
Judgments must be accompanied by the Rule 236 notice. Envelopes do not need to be included. The Prothonotary assumes the expense for envelopes and postage for service of judgments.
A self-addressed, stamped envelope must be included with any documents to be returned.
