10 Keys to Healthy Aging

Take Ownership of Your Health

10 Keys teaching imageAttend educational workshops to learn about the 10 Keys to Healthy Aging and the many no-cost and low-cost preventative services to help keep you healthy. This health promotion program was developed by the Center of Aging and Population Health at the University of Pittsburgh. Their research team, along with the Centers for Disease Control Prevention Research Center, learned a great deal about how to keep adults healthy as they age. They have translated what has been learned into the 10 Keys to Healthy Aging. Each key is an important step in preventing disease and improving the quality of our lives.

The information is presented in workshop settings, with 1 or 2 topics per session, once or twice per week. A certified Health Ambassador through the York County Area Agency on Aging conducts the program. Participants receive a Resource Manual which provides a wealth of information on preventative, proven strategies that work!

Class dates & times can be found on our Informational Workshops page.

Workshops are led by Megan Craley, YCAAA Health Ambassador; certified Volunteer Ambassadors, as well as Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight (PA MEDI) Counselors.
