Heating Fuel Assistance Programs
Columbia Gas Income Eligible Assistance Programs - Columbia Gas offers an online eligibility calculator that determines which customer assistance programs fit your income level. You can then apply for the programs. Go to www.columbiagaspa.com for information on Customer Programs.
Dollar Energy Fund - This program helps limited-income households maintain or restore basic gas, water, wastewater, and electric service. Apply through your energy/utility supplier.
Low Income Home Energy (LIHEAP) - The Pennsylvania Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps low income people pay their heating bills through energy assistance grants. You may apply online through the York County Assistance Office using COMPASS.
Salvation Army York - Programs can help with paying heating and utility bills. The primary resource is known as Family Services. Qualifications will need to be met by applicants, restrictions and income levels apply. The Hanover Office is located inside of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 124 Broadway, Hanover. Help is available weekdays from 9 am – 1 pm to assist with emergency services. The church number is: 717-632-8281.

York Benevolent Association - Offers heating fuel assistance to low-income York County residents who did not receive help during the previous year and who have already applied for LIHEAP assistance. Helps with oil, gas, propane, kerosene, wood and coal. Does not help with electric heat. Assistance available for January, February & March only. By Appointment Only. Call 717-854-2494.

Weatherization Programs
Columbia Gas Emergency Repair Program - This program offers financial assistance for the repair of replacement of natural gas furnaces, water heaters, service and house lines. Customers would need to be income eligible for this program. A call to our Universal Services number is the best place to determine eligibility: 1-800-537-7431.
Home Improvement Program - This program provides funds for home improvements in the form of a zero-interest loan with a deferred payment. Grant funds up to $10,000 may be available for necessary home repairs to eligible homeowners who are 55 and older, or disabled individuals who meet financial guidelines.
York County Weatherization - This program helps people who have a limited income so that they can lower their fuel bills, save energy, and have more comfortable homes in the process.
