The York County Sheriff’s Office Civil Unrest Response Team is made up of Deputies and Supervisors who are specifically trained to respond to protests or acts of disorderly behavior.
Deputies are specifically trained in damage control, crowd dynamics, and protester tactics. Some of the team members receive special training in the use of less lethal impact munitions.
The main objective is to protect buildings and property owned by the County of York while maintain order.
The Civil Unrest Response Team conducts quarterly trainings and receives supplemental training conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police.
