York County Senior Games

The 15th annual York County Senior Games will be held Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, offering participants the chance to test their skills in 44 different events.  The goal is to promote healthy lifestyles and fitness for York County men and women aged 50 and older.

Any York County resident 50 years of age or older as of Dec. 31, 2016, may participate. There is a $12 registration fee for an unlimited number of events if registration is completed by May 31. The fee is $15 for all registrations postmarked after May 31.

The Opening Ceremony and Closing Celebration for the Games will be free and open to the public. The Opening Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at 8:15 a.m. in a new location on the front lawn near the main entrance to Central York High School, 601 Mundis Mill Road in Springettsbury Township. All participants and their families are encouraged to attend the ceremony, which will feature a color guard, parade of athletes, special musical entertainment and lighting of the torch.

The closing celebration will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24 at the Central York High School cafeteria. This event will celebrate the week of activities, recognize triathlon medal winners and be a special time of sharing.

Volunteers are also sought to help support the games. It’s a particularly great opportunity for adult civic organizations, church groups, high school and college students or businesses.
