Clerk of Courts
The York County Clerk of Courts office is responsible for all of the criminal court records for the York County Court of Common Pleas. We maintain a record of the docketing/events associated with approximately 8,000 criminal cases per year (now available on-line), schedule events (trials, pre-trial conferences, current business) at the Court’s direction, and collect approximately $9 million in costs, fines and restitution from criminal defendants each year.
In addition to being the record keeper of the Criminal Division of the York County Court of Common Pleas, documents accepted for filing include:
Juvenile court records
Bonds filed by Tax Collectors and Constables
Financial statements of Townships and Boroughs
Other filings available in our office are:
Appointments/resignations of elections officers and Township/Borough officers
All records are open to the public with the exception of juvenile cases and impounded criminal cases. All civil court matters are handled by the York County Prothonotary’s office and marriage licenses can be obtained from the Register of Wills office.
